The Dark Tower Movies and Television Series

Greetings-

Stephen King's epic "The Dark Tower" is one of my favorite stories of all time.  When the news came out that Ron Howard and Akiva Goldsman were working on bringing the Gunslinger's adventures to theaters and television, I let out a whooop of delight.

Casting rumors currently have Viggo Mortensen (The Lord of the Rings) and Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men) as being considered for the role of the last gunslinger Roland Deschain.

One thing so far that worries me about the casting of this epic tale is who they are going to get to play Jake Chambers.  In the books Jake Chambers is supposed to be an 11 year old kid.  The production might run into an aging problem (similar to the aging problem with actor Malcolm David Kelley {Walt} in LOST) if they chose to stick with one actor in the role of Jake.

What do you think?  Do you think the producers will decide to stick with one actor for Jake Chambers, and if so, do you think they will alter the story in some way to explain Jake's aging?

Until next time,
-Bill
